China's economy grew 6.2% year on year in the first three quarters

According to preliminary calculations, the gross domestic product of the first three quarters was 69779.8 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2% year-on-year at comparable prices, the National Bureau of statistics released data Friday. On a quarterly basis, the first quarter saw a year-on-year growth of 6.4%, the second quarter saw a growth of 6.2%, and the third quarter saw a growth of 6.0%. Mao Shengyong, spokesman of the National Bureau of statistics, said that in general, the first three quarters of the national economy was running smoothly. However, it should also be noted that the current economic situation at home and abroad is still complex and severe, and the domestic economy is under great downward pressure.
