On October 15, the national development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of natural resources issued the report on China's marine economic development 2019 (hereinafter referred to as the report) at the China Marine Economic exposition held in Shenzhen. According to the report, China's marine economy is undergoing a transformation from rapid development to high-quality development, and the transformation and upgrading of the marine economy continue. Stability: under the guidance of the national innovation driven strategy and the strategy of invigorating the sea through science and technology, China's Marine Science and technology has developed rapidly in the deep-water, green and safe marine high-tech field, making breakthroughs in the core technology and key common technology urgently needed in the process of promoting the transformation and upgrading of the marine economy.

According to the report data, China's total marine economy has reached a new level, and the role of the engine has continued to play. In 2018, China's marine economy totaled 8341.5 billion yuan, up 6.7% year on year. The marine GDP accounts for 9.3% of the GDP, and its proportion in the national economy is basically stable. It has provided 36.84 million jobs for coastal areas and contributed nearly 10% to the growth of national economy. According to the report, China's marine industrial structure has been continuously optimized, and the "stabilizer" function of the marine tertiary industry is more prominent. In 2018, the added value of China's three marine industries accounted for 4.4%, 37.0% and 58.6% of the total marine production, respectively. The structure of the three marine industries maintained the trend of "three, two and one" for six consecutive years. The development momentum of the marine tertiary industry is strong, and its proportion in the marine GDP is 1.1 percentage points higher than that of the previous year. In terms of supply side structural reform in the marine sector, in 2018, the asset liability ratio of the industrial enterprises above Designated Size monitored was 56.0%, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6 percentage points; the cost per 100 yuan of main business income was 78 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.7 yuan; the profit margin of main business income was 10.7%, a year-on-year increase of 3.2 percentage points. In terms of maritime foreign trade, the report shows that with the implementation of a series of policies and measures to promote the stable growth of foreign trade in China, trade partners have been expanding.

In 2018, China's total import and export trade of marine products and key monitoring products increased by 11.8% and 14.9% respectively over the previous year. In addition, according to the data of the report, the development of regional marine economy in China is stable, and the development trend of marine industry agglomeration is obvious. In 2018, the marine GDP of the three major marine economic circles in the north, East and south of China increased by 7.0%, 8.0% and 10.6% respectively in nominal terms compared with the previous year. A number of high-tech and start-up enterprises are gathered in various sea related industrial bases and parks, and the trend of cluster development of key industries in the region is obvious.
