Nonferrous Metal Industry Enterprises above Designated Size achieve revenue

ECHEMI 2020-01-13

Chen quanxun, President of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, said at the second annual economic forum of China Nonferrous Metals Industry held recently that despite the turbulent international situation this year, China's nonferrous metals industry has made steady progress and continued to maintain stable development. In 2020, we will focus on improving the basic industrial capacity, break through the bottleneck of independent innovation, actively explore aviation materials, semiconductor materials and other fields, and strive to make progress in several key links. From the perspective of industry operation, from January to October this year, the output of 10 kinds of non-ferrous metals in China was 48.15 million tons, up 4.6% year-on-year; although the average spot prices of copper, aluminum, lead and zinc fell by 6.4%, 3.1%, 12.3% and 13.2% year-on-year respectively, 7997 Enterprises above Designated Size achieved a main business income of 4.5 trillion yuan, up 5.5% year-on-year. The investment in fixed assets of the industry is generally the same as that of the previous year. With the increasing investment in mining and beneficiation, especially in environmental protection, the investment structure continues to be optimized. From the perspective of enterprise development, no matter the central enterprises such as Chalco, China Minmetals, Zhongse mining, or the local state-owned enterprises such as western mining, Jinchuan Group, Zijin mining, as well as the private enterprises such as Weiqiao, Hailiang, and Everest, are focusing on the main business, optimizing layout, improving management, strengthening international cooperation and other measures to enhance global competitiveness and become a driving force for the world's non-ferrous gold It is a force that cannot be ignored in industrial development.

From the perspective of strategic position, although China's economy has changed from a high-speed growth stage to a high-quality development stage, and the demand for bulk raw materials has also changed from a sustained and rapid growth stage to a micro growth platform stage, non-ferrous metals are still the foundation and pillar of the national economy. From the perspective of innovation and development, innovation leading has increasingly become the consensus and conscious action of enterprises and industries. On the one hand, enterprises have increased investment in science and technology, focused on improving quality and efficiency, and implemented green development; on the other hand, enterprises have gradually paid attention to cross industry cooperation, industry university research and application integration, and examined transformation and upgrading from the perspective of industrial chain, value chain, supply chain and ecological chain. In particular, based on the principle of equal reduction and replacement, electrolytic aluminum will be transferred to clean energy areas, promote local enterprise cooperation and optimize industrial layout. It is worth noting that although the development of China's non-ferrous metal industry is basically stable, it still faces many challenges. Zhao Wuzhuang, deputy director of the Policy Research Office of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, thinks that, first of all, the quality and efficiency of the development of nonferrous metals industry is not high, the prices of main nonferrous metals continue to fluctuate, the supply of nonferrous metals in domestic and foreign markets are relatively sufficient, new growth points in the consumption field need to be cultivated, and the supply-demand relationship is difficult to support the continuous rise of prices. Secondly, the ability of independent innovation is insufficient.

In particular, key basic materials, advanced basic technology, industrial technology foundation and core basic parts are still the most prominent short board restricting the development of the industry. At the same time, with the continuous expansion of production scale, the contradiction between industrial development and domestic resource and environment carrying capacity is increasingly prominent. China's nonferrous metal industry is faced with the dual tasks of prevention and control of new pollution sources and solution of historical legacy pollution, and the sustainable development is facing a severe test. In addition, the unreasonable industrial structure, unbalanced and uncoordinated development are still the main contradictions restricting the high-quality development of the industry. "China's nonferrous metals industry is moving forward in a complex environment." Chen quanxun said that in order to achieve the steady development of the non-ferrous metal industry in 2020, facing the downward pressure, the industry should continue to focus on expanding the application of non-ferrous metals and cultivate new economic growth points of the industry. At the same time, efforts should be made to launch a number of small and medium-sized enterprises that take the "specialized, refined, special and new" development path, so as to take the lead in the global industrial strategic restructuring and integration.
