In December, cosmetics exports reached 491.39 million US dollars
The proportion of skin care and cosmetics products in China has increased, and the export to Hong Kong has increased. According to a report recently released by park eunjeong, an analyst at Yuanda securities, the provisional value of cosmetics exports in December released by the Korea Institute of trade statistics was 491.39 million US dollars, an increase of 33.3% year on year. The export to China led the growth trend. Hong Kong's export, which began to decrease in the second half of last year, showed a growth trend, and its export to Japan also continued to strengthen. In terms of the proportion of regional exports, China accounts for 46%, Hong Kong 17%, the United States 7%, and Japan 6%. In December, nbsp exported 237.2 million US dollars of cosmetics to China, an increase of 54.4% over the same period last year and a decrease of 4% over the previous month. The export volume of skin care products and cosmetics increased by 60% and 36% respectively compared with the same period last year. In 2018, the proportion of skin care products accounted for 51% of the export to China, and in 2019, the proportion increased to 58%. In the same period, the proportion of cosmetics increased from 8% to 9%. In the fourth quarter, South Korean cosmetics exports to China increased by 40% year on year to reach 7122.6 million US dollars. In 2019, a total of US $2.4 billion was accumulated, up 21% year on year. Some commentators believe that the sharp decline in the whole year since the second half of last year has come to an end. The export volume of skin care products and cosmetics increased by 43% and 178% respectively year on year. In the fourth quarter, cosmetics exports to Hong Kong amounted to US $2180.9 million, down 1% year on year. In 2019, cosmetics exports to Hong Kong amounted to US $78645 million, down 24% year on year. Except for mainland China and Hong Kong, exports in December were US $185.22 million, up 12% year-on-year and down 3% from last month. Cosmetics exports to the United States reached US $35.4 million, down 1.5% year-on-year, down 2% from last month, while exports to Japan reached US $31.38 million, up 59% year-on-year, down 6% from last month.
