Israeli company develops plant preservative ingredient
The Israeli company Gat Foods has recently developed a plant-based preservative ingredient.
For decades, beverage manufacturers have been plagued with problems such as cloudy and off-flavored beverages caused by the deterioration of TAB (thermophilic acidophilus). TAB is known to be commonly found in beverages.
It is said that this ingredient is a scientifically proven natural compound with bactericidal effect, which can decompose the cells of TAB at the germination stage and prevent the product from producing off-flavors, and can completely retain the original flavor and sensory characteristics of the product within the shelf life.
It is understood that the ingredient can be added to the beverage base or syrup at the preparation stage, or directly into the beverage can prior to pasteurization.
