EIA: 2.5 million barrels reduction in US crude oil inventory
US crude oil inventories (excluding strategic oil reserves) were 2.5 million barrels lower in the week ended January 10 than in the previous week, according to the EIA. According to the EIA report, U.S. crude oil inventory is 425.5 million barrels, which is the five-year average at this time of year. According to the EIA, total automotive gasoline inventories increased by 6.7 million barrels, 5% higher than the five-year average. Last week, the inventory of finished gasoline and mixed components increased. The inventory of distilled fuel increased 8.2 million barrels, 3% lower than the five-year average. Last week, propane and propylene inventories fell by 900000 barrels, about 21% higher than the five-year average, the EIA said. For the week ended January 10, US refineries produced an average of 17 million barrels a day, about 76000 barrels higher than the previous week's average, with refineries operating at 92.2% capacity. Gasoline production increased, with an average of 9.3 million barrels / day, while distillate fuel production decreased, with an average of 5.2 million barrels / day. US crude oil imports averaged 6.6 million barrels per day, down 179000 barrels per day from the previous week. In the past four weeks, crude oil imports have averaged 6.6 million barrels per day, down 13.1% from the same period last year. The total import volume of automobile gasoline is 443000 barrels / day on average, and that of distilled oil is 202000 barrels / day on average.
