It is commonly known as white mouth paste, and is called snow mouth disease in traditional Chinese medicine. It is caused by infection with Candida albicans, a type of fungus, also known as mold. It is generally believed to be caused by low immune function of newborns, such as weakness, malnutrition, diarrhea, or long-term use of various antibiotics or hormones such as prednisone due to infection. Oral thrush (snow mouth disease) is the most common oropharyngeal mucosal candidiasis, which is an oral mucosal disease caused by Candida infection.
