Behcet's Scleritis
Behcet's disease (BD) is essentially a chronic relapsing systemic vasculitis with unknown etiology. It is a systemic immune disease. The characteristic manifestations are oral ulcers, genital ulcers and eye inflammation. As early as the time of Hippocrates, the "father of medicine", the connection between eye inflammation, oral ulcers and genital ulcers was discovered. It was not until 1937 that Turkish dermatologist Hulusi Behcet first recognized and explained the triad of the disease.
