Vaginismus
Vaginismus is a syndrome of sexual psychological and physiological disorders, also known as sexual intercourse phobia. It refers to the involuntary spasmodic contraction of the muscles surrounding the outer 1/3 of the vagina, including the superficial transverse muscles of the perineum, the deep transverse muscles, the levator ani muscles, and the inner thigh muscles, when the penis or a substitute is inserted into the vagina in anticipation or in fact, resulting in sexual intercourse pain or inability to enter. However, sexual arousal is usually not difficult, the vaginal lubrication function is normal, and non-sexual activities may feel satisfactory and pleasant, and the orgasm response is normal.
