Taeniasis saginate is an intestinal tapeworm disease caused by adult taenia saginata parasitizing the human small intestine. It is also called beef tapeworm disease and fat tapeworm disease. Its cysticercus was first discovered by Wepfer in 1675. In 1861, Leuckart infected cattle with gravid proglottids to obtain cysticercus. In 1869, Oliver infected humans with cattle cysticercus, thus completing the entire life cycle. Taeniasis saginate is the earliest recorded parasitic disease both at home and abroad. Taeniasis saginate is distributed worldwide and can cause epidemics in areas or ethnic groups that eat beef, especially those with the habit of eating raw beef. In general areas, there are mostly sporadic cases.
