Fecal perforation of colon
Stercoral perforation (SP) is a rare fatal acute abdomen. In 1972, Bauer reported 4 cases and reviewed 25 cases in the literature. Later, there were more cases reported in the literature. In 1990, Serpell counted 64 cases in the world literature from 1984 to 1990, and reported 3 cases in 1995. The incidence of stercoral perforation is unknown, but according to autopsy findings, the incidence is greater than 5%.
