Too much water
It refers to the body taking in or inputting too much water, resulting in water retention in the body, causing a decrease in blood osmotic pressure and an increase in circulating blood volume. It is also called "water intoxication" or dilutional hyponatremia. Water intoxication occurs less frequently. It is only when the body takes in too much water or receives too much intravenous infusion in the case of excessive secretion of antidiuretic hormone or renal insufficiency that water accumulates in the body and leads to water intoxication.
