Polymorphous light eruption
Polymorphous light eruption is a delayed allergic reaction of the skin to sunlight. The pathogenesis is unclear. The pathogenic spectrum is mainly medium-wave ultraviolet (UVB). In some patients, long-wave ultraviolet (VUA) and visible light can induce the disease in addition to UVB. The onset may be related to the patient's epidermal pigment content, age, endocrine function and certain trace element deficiencies (such as zinc and copper). It often occurs in spring and early summer, and is more common in young and middle-aged women.
