Zinc deficiency
Zinc is one of the essential trace elements for the human body. As a component of many enzymes, it is widely involved in various metabolic activities. Zinc deficiency can cause anorexia, dwarfism, sexual maturity disorders, low immune function, rash and hair loss. In 1961, Ananda S. Prasad et al. reported "Iranian rural disease", which included short stature, genital dysplasia, iron-deficiency hepatosplenomegaly, mental depression, pica, etc., and zinc treatment was effective. Subsequently, similar cases were found in Egypt. Developed countries have also successively reported experimentally confirmed zinc nutritional deficiency, and found that zinc agents are effective in treating enteropathic acrodermatitis. Since the late 1970s, there have been a large number of reports on zinc deficiency diseases across my country, most of which are children.
