Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy
Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a brain lesion caused by hypoxia in perinatal neonates, mainly caused by intrauterine distress and neonatal asphyxia. A few cases may occur in brain damage caused by other reasons.
