Anorchia
Anorchia is also known as congenital testicular absence. Children are born with unilateral or bilateral testicular absence. The external genitalia appear male and there is no abnormality in the sex chromosomes. It is rare in clinical practice and is divided into two categories: unilateral and bilateral testicular absence. Anorchia should be distinguished from partial or complete testicular atrophy caused by spermatic cord torsion or orchitis. In these cases, at least degenerated testicular tissue can be found histologically. Anorchia can be congenital or acquired.
