Porphyria
Porphyria is a group of diseases caused by enzyme deficiency in the heme biosynthesis pathway. Porphyrin or its precursors such as δ-amino-r-ketovaleric acid (ALA) and porphobilinogen (PBG) are produced, the concentration is abnormally high, and it accumulates in tissues and is excreted in urine and feces. The clinical manifestations are also called porphyria, which are divided into two categories: hereditary and acquired, mainly photosensitivity dermatitis, abdominal pain and neuropsychiatric disorders. It mainly affects the nervous system and skin.
