Hepatic encephalopathy in the elderly
Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a syndrome of central nervous system dysfunction based on metabolic disorders caused by severe liver disease or extensive portal-systemic shunts. Its main clinical manifestations are impaired consciousness, behavioral disorders and coma.
