Bladder tuberculosis
Urogenital tuberculosis is secondary to tuberculosis lesions in the lungs and extrapulmonary organs (stomach, small intestine, lymph nodes). Renal tuberculosis accounts for about 20% of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Bladder tuberculosis is a part of urinary tuberculosis, which is mostly caused by urine contamination of renal tuberculosis and spread from the mucosa along the ureter. Therefore, bladder tuberculosis and urogenital tuberculosis coexist, and the severity of the lesion is related to the prognosis of urinary tuberculosis. Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) intravesical instillation for the treatment of superficial bladder cancer is the most common cause of nosocomial infection.
