Uveitis caused by human T-lymphotropic type I
Human T-lymphotropic virus (HTLV) is a retrovirus, of which three types have been discovered, namely HTLV-Ⅰ, HTLV-Ⅱ and HTLV-Ⅲ. HTLV-Ⅰ is associated with adult T-cell leukemia, progressive myelopathy and uveitis. The uveitis caused by HTLV-Ⅰ is mainly manifested as granulomatous intermediate uveitis, panuveitis, iritis and retinal vasculitis; HTLV-Ⅲ is also known as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which mainly causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.
