Fungal pericarditis
Various fungal diseases such as histoplasmosis, coccidioidomycosis, actinomycosis and nocardiosis can affect the pericardium. Although fungal pericarditis is extremely rare, patients who are susceptible to fungi, especially those with lymphoma, leukemia and other systemic diseases who are undergoing immunosuppressive treatment, should be considered for the possibility of this disease if they develop signs of pericarditis.
