Palpitation is an acute disease characterized by paroxysmal or continuous attacks, in which the patient feels that his heart is beating violently. It is worse than palpitation, and the heart beats uncontrollably. The earliest acupuncture treatment for this syndrome was also found in the silk book "Yin Yang Eleven Meridians Moxibustion Sutra" unearthed from the Mawangdui Han Tomb. "Lingshu" mentioned that acupoints such as Zusanli can treat "heart calmness"; the main treatment of 19 acupoints such as Lieque in "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Jiayi Jing" involves this syndrome; Song "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Zisheng Jing" advocated the use of Baihui moxibustion therapy, and Ming "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Dacheng" emphasized that the eight meridian intersection points such as Neiguan and Gongsun were used to treat this syndrome. Various types of severe arrhythmias in modern medicine are similar to this syndrome.
