Idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis is a type of repeated bleeding in the alveoli that causes iron accumulation in the pulmonary interstitium, eventually leading to progressive pulmonary fibrosis. It is a group of alveolar capillary hemorrhagic diseases that are more common in children. Clinically, the main symptoms are iron deficiency anemia, cough, hemoptysis, and progressive shortness of breath.
