Alternating fever and chills is a type of fever that occurs alternately with fever and aversion to cold. When it is hot, you feel hot but not cold, and when it is cold, you feel cold but not hot. It is different from the simultaneous occurrence of fever and chills. The Book of Lei Zheng Huo Ren Shu states: "Alternating fever and chills is caused by the victory of yin and yang. If yang is insufficient, you will feel cold first and then hot, and if yin is insufficient, you will feel hot first and then cold." The pathogenesis is that the pathogen enters the half-exterior and half-interior, and the pivot is unfavorable.
