Mucopolysaccharidosis type II
This type is also called Hunter syndrome, which was first described by Hunter (1917). Wolff (1946) reported the first X-linked Hunter syndrome family. Mekusick (1965) and others classified it as mucopolysaccharidosis type II based on its clinical features, biochemical abnormalities and inheritance pattern. It is a sex-linked recessive inheritance that only occurs in males. The patient's mother is a carrier but does not develop the disease.
