Promote lipid metabolism, increase energy production, improve energy supply to tissues and organs, participate in drug detoxification, oxidation of medium-chain fatty acids, oxidation of fatty acid peroxidase, buffer the ratio of bound coenzyme A to free coenzyme A, generate energy from ketones, pyruvate, and amino acids (including branched-chain amino acids), remove excessive coenzyme A toxicity, and regulate blood ammonia concentration.

1. Calcium ion antagonist, regulating calcium ion influx on the membrane of myocardial conduction cells, myocardial contractile cells and arterial smooth muscle cells, but does not change serum calcium concentration. 2. Dilates the main coronary artery and arterioles, antagonizes coronary artery spasm, increases myocardial oxygen delivery, and reduces myocardial oxygen consumption. 3. Prolongs the effective refractory period of the atrioventricular node, slows conduction, reduces the ventricular rate of patients with chronic atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter, and reduces the frequency of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. 4. Reduces systemic vascular resistance and thus blood pressure, generally does not cause postural hypotension or reflex tachycardia. 5. Reduces afterload, inhibits myocardial contraction, and improves left ventricular diastolic function. 6. Animal experiments show that it has a local anesthetic effect, which is 1.6 times the molar value of procaine, but its effect and dosage in humans are still unclear.
