Usage and Dosage
1. Oral administration: generally 5-10 mg (1-2 tablets) at a time, 10-60 mg (2-12 tablets) per day. 2. For autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, gastropathic syndrome, ulcerative colitis, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, etc., 40-60 mg can be given daily, and the dosage can be gradually reduced after the condition stabilizes. 3. For allergic diseases such as drug-induced dermatitis, urticaria, bronchial asthma, etc., prednisone can be given at 20-40 mg daily, and the dosage can be reduced after the symptoms are relieved, reducing by 5 mg every 1-2 days. 4. To prevent organ transplant rejection, generally start taking 100 mg orally daily 1-2 days before surgery, change to 60 mg daily one week after surgery, and then gradually reduce the dosage. 5. For the treatment of acute leukemia and malignant tumors, take 60-80 mg orally daily, and reduce the dosage after the symptoms are relieved.
Adverse Reactions
Large doses of this product can easily cause diabetes, peptic ulcers and Cushing's syndrome-like symptoms, and have a strong inhibitory effect on the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis. Concurrent infection is the main adverse reaction.
Precautions
It is not suitable for patients with hypertension, thrombosis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, mental illness, abnormal electrolyte metabolism, myocardial infarction, visceral surgery, glaucoma, etc. It is contraindicated for patients with a history of allergy to this product and adrenal cortical hormones, and for those with fungal and viral infections.

Precautions for children: Not clear yet. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Use by pregnant women may increase the incidence of placental insufficiency, neonatal weight loss or stillbirth. Animal experiments have shown teratogenic effects, so the pros and cons should be weighed before use. Breastfeeding mothers who receive large doses should not breastfeed to prevent the drug from being excreted through breast milk, causing adverse reactions such as infant growth inhibition and adrenal function inhibition. Precautions for the elderly: Use of glucocorticoids can easily cause hypertension, and elderly patients, especially postmenopausal women, are prone to osteoporosis.
