Function and Efficacy
Chlorpromazine hydrochloride is an antipsychotic drug, and its mechanism of action is mainly related to its blocking of dopamine receptors (DA2) in the mesolimbic system and mesocortical pathways. It has a blocking effect on dopamine (DA1) receptors, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptors, M-type acetylcholine receptors, and α-adrenaline receptors, and has a wide range of effects. In addition, this product can inhibit dopamine receptors in the medulla oblongata emetic chemoreceptor area at low doses, and directly inhibit the vomiting center at high doses, producing a strong antiemetic effect. It inhibits the body temperature regulation center, lowers the body temperature, and the body temperature can change with changes in the external environment. It blocks the action of peripheral α-adrenaline receptors, dilates blood vessels, causes a drop in blood pressure, and also has a certain effect on the endocrine system. Promethazine hydrochloride competes with histamine released by tissues for H1 receptors, antagonizes the contraction or contraction of histamine on the gastrointestinal tract, trachea, bronchi or bronchiolar smooth muscles, and relieves the spasmodic and congestive effects of histamine on bronchial smooth muscles. The antiemetic effect of this product may be related to the inhibition of the emetic chemo-receptive area of the medulla oblongata; the anti-dizziness effect may act on the vestibular and vomiting centers and midbrain medullary receptors through central anticholinergic properties, blocking the excitement of the cholinergic synaptic labyrinth impulses in the vestibular nucleus. This product has a sedative and hypnotic effect by indirectly reducing the irritability of the ascending reticular activation system of the brainstem.
Ingredients
This product is a sterile aqueous solution of chlorpromazine hydrochloride and promethazine hydrochloride, and its components are 25 mg of chlorpromazine hydrochloride and promethazine hydrochloride per 2 ml. The auxiliary materials are: vitamin C, sodium pyrosulfite, anhydrous sodium sulfite.

Indication
Used for the excited and agitated state of mental illness; antiemetic, hypothermic anesthesia; artificial hibernation, etc.
Usage and Dosage
Intramuscular injection or intravenous drip. 2ml at a time or as directed by your doctor.
Adverse Reactions
1. Adverse reactions of chlorpromazine (1) Common adverse reactions include dry mouth, upper abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, fatigue and drowsiness. (2) It may cause postural hypotension, palpitations or electrocardiogram changes. (3) Extrapyramidal reactions may occur, such as tremor, rigidity, drooling, bradykinesia, akathisia, and acute dystonia. (4) Long-term and large-scale use of the drug may cause tardive dyskinesia. Precautions
1. Patients who are allergic to phenothiazines are prohibited from using this product. 2. Patients with basal ganglia lesions are prohibited from using this product. 3. Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Children under 3 months old may not have enough drug metabolizing enzymes in their bodies, so this product should not be used. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Since the drug can enter the fetus through the placenta and can also be excreted from breast milk, taking this drug can also induce jaundice and extrapyramidal symptoms in infants, so pregnant and lactating women should use the drug with caution. Drug Interactions
1. When used in combination with ethanol or other central nervous system depressants, the central inhibitory effect is enhanced. 2. When used in combination with sultopride, there is a risk of ventricular arrhythmias, and severe cases may cause torsades de pointes. 4. When used in combination with atropine drugs, adverse reactions are enhanced. 5. When used in combination with lithium carbonate, it can cause an increase in blood lithium concentration. 6. Antacids can reduce the absorption of this product, and phenobarbital can accelerate its excretion, thereby weakening its antipsychotic effect. 7. When used in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants, the anticholinergic effects of both are enhanced and adverse reactions are aggravated. 8. When ototoxic drugs such as cisplatin, paromomycin and other aminoglycoside antibiotics, salicylic acid preparations and vancomycin are used with promethazine, their ototoxic symptoms can be masked.
