This product is light yellow or light yellow-green liquid; it tastes sweet and slightly astringent.

It is used for loss of appetite, pica, anemia, and growth retardation caused by zinc deficiency; it can also be used for acne, conjunctivitis, and mouth ulcers.

This product can weaken the effect of penicillamine when used together. Common dosage for adults, therapeutic dosage: oral 300 mg per day (containing 68 mg zinc), divided into 3 doses; long-term dosage can be adjusted according to the plasma zinc concentration not exceeding 30.6 μmol/L. The dosage for children under 12 years old is as follows, taken after meals. 1-3 years old, 12-14 kg, 10-20 ml/day, divided into 2 doses. 4-6 years old, 16-20 kg, 15-30 ml/day, divided into 2 doses. 7-9 years old, 22-26 kg, 20-40 ml/day, divided into 2 doses. 10-12 years old, 28-32 kg, 30-50 ml/day, divided into 2 doses.

This product is irritating to the gastrointestinal tract. Oral administration may cause mild nausea, vomiting, constipation, and 0.2-2g may induce vomiting. Overdose may cause poisoning reactions such as acute gastroenteritis, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Occasionally, skin rashes, gastrointestinal bleeding, and intestinal perforation are rare.

It is contraindicated for patients with peptic ulcer.
