Promethazine Hydrochloride Tablets

As a histamine H1 receptor antagonist, this product can counteract the capillary dilation caused by allergic reactions, reduce the permeability of capillaries, and relieve wheezing caused by bronchial smooth muscle contraction. This product has a long-lasting antihistamine effect and also has a significant central inhibitory effect, which can increase the effects of anesthetics, analgesics, hypnotics and local anesthetics. This product is mainly metabolized in the liver.

This product is a sugar-coated tablet, which is white or slightly yellow after removing the sugar coating.

1 Skin and mucous membrane allergy: suitable for long-term and seasonal allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria, food allergy, skin scratches. 2 Motion sickness: carsickness, seasickness, airplane sickness. 3 Nausea and vomiting.

1 Allergic rhinitis: Adults, take 10-20 mg (1-2 tablets) orally once a day. Or take according to the doctor's advice. 2 Urticaria, eczema, dermatitis, pruritus, psoriasis, bronchial asthma. Usually adults take 20 mg (2 tablets) orally once a day. Or take according to age and symptoms.

The main adverse reactions are drowsiness, sleepiness, dry mouth, and occasional gastrointestinal irritation. Extrapyramidal symptoms are prone to occur at high doses. Elderly people often experience dizziness, dementia, mental confusion, and hypotension. A few patients experience excitement, insomnia, palpitations, headaches, tinnitus, blurred vision, and dysuria after taking the drug. Overdose may cause clumsiness, slow reaction, and tremors.

It is contraindicated for newborns and premature infants.

Precautions for children: 1. Anti-allergic, 0.125 mg/kg of body weight or 3.75 mg/m2 of body surface area, once every 4 to 6 hours, or 0.5 mg/kg of body weight or 15 mg/m2 of body surface area before bedtime; calculated by age, daily dose is 5-10 mg for children under 1 year old, 5-15 mg for 1-5 years old, 10-25 mg for those over 6 years old, which can be given once or twice; 2. Anti-emetic, 0.25-0.5 mg/kg of body weight or 7.5-15 mg/m2 of body surface area, once every 4 to 6 hours if necessary, or 10-25 mg, once every 4 to 6 hours if necessary; 3.
