Function and Efficacy

This product inhibits bacterial transpeptidase, prevents the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, and inhibits or kills bacteria. The combination of cephalexin and trimethoprim improves the antibacterial ability, delays the development of drug resistance, and reduces the oral dose.

Indication

Used for infections caused by penicillin-resistant Staphylococci, Streptococci, Pneumococci, Escherichia coli, etc.

Usage and Dosage

It is recommended to be taken orally on an empty stomach. Adults take 1-2 tablets at a time, 4 times a day. Children should take a reduced dosage or follow the doctor's advice.

Adverse Reactions

1. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal discomfort are more common. 2. Allergic reactions such as rash and drug fever are rare, and anaphylactic shock may occur occasionally. 3. Neurological reactions such as dizziness, diplopia, tinnitus, and convulsions. 4. Renal damage may occur occasionally during the use of this product. 5. Occasionally, patients have elevated serum aminotransferases and positive Coombs tests. Hemolytic anemia is rare. Neutropenia and pseudomembranous colitis have also been reported. 6. Trimethoprim's interference with folic acid metabolism can produce adverse reactions in the blood system, such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia or methemoglobin anemia. Generally, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia are mild, and can be recovered by stopping the drug in time. Folic acid preparations can also be added.
