Pidomodosan

Function and Efficacy

Pharmacological action: Pidotimod is an immunostimulant that works by stimulating and regulating cell-mediated immune responses. Pidotimod can promote the phagocytic activity of macrophages and neutrophils and increase their chemotaxis; activate natural killer cells; promote lymphocyte proliferation caused by mitogens, increase the ratio of helper T cells (CD4) to suppressor T cells (CD8) that is reduced when the immune function is low and restore it to normal; promote cellular immune responses by stimulating interleukin-2 and gamma-interferon. Animal experiments and clinical trials have shown that although pidotimod has no direct antibacterial and antiviral activity, it can play a significant role in treating bacteria (pneumococcus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus, etc.) and viruses (influenza virus, herpes simplex virus) by promoting the body's immune function.
