Function and Efficacy
This product (8-methoxypsoralen) is a photosensitizer extracted from the seeds of the plant Ammi serrata on the banks of the Nile River. It has a photodynamic effect, making the skin sensitive to sunlight or artificial ultraviolet rays. Its action spectrum is between 320 and 380nm, with the greatest effect at 365nm. -Toxicological properties: Animal tests show that methoxsalen has no teratogenic effect. Small-scale human clinical trial data also did not show teratogenic effects.

Appearance
This product is a slightly yellow or light yellow clear liquid.
Usage and Dosage
Topical 11% 8-MOP solution is used for psoriasis; 0.1% MOP solution is used for vitiligo. After applying to the affected area for 1-2 hours, irradiate the affected area with long-wave ultraviolet rays. The light distance during irradiation is 10-30cm, and the irradiation time is about 30 minutes. Once a day. Generally, one course of treatment is 1 month. After cure, irradiate once a week or every other week to consolidate the therapeutic effect. If not cured, treatment should be continued. If the skin lesions have not significantly subsided after two courses of treatment, treatment can be stopped. Adverse Reactions
1. Common adverse reactions after long-wave ultraviolet irradiation are erythema, which often appears 24 to 28 hours after irradiation; skin pigmentation and itching. If the irradiation dose is too large or the time is too long, redness, swelling, blisters, pain, and desquamation may occur on the skin of the irradiated area. If redness, swelling, blisters, etc. occur, you can temporarily stop using it and use it again after recovery.
Precautions
1. Children under 12 years old and the elderly and infirm are prohibited from using this product. 2. Pregnant women and lactating women are prohibited from using this product. 3. Patients with severe liver disease are prohibited from using this product. 4. Patients with cataracts or other lens diseases are prohibited from using this product. 5. Patients with photosensitive diseases such as lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, porphyria, polymorphic light eruption, and xeroderma pigmentosum are prohibited from using this product. 6. Patients who are allergic to this product are prohibited from using this product.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Not for use by children under 12 years old. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Not for use by pregnant and lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: Not for use by the elderly and infirm.
Drug Interactions
Do not take other photosensitizing drugs during treatment. The use of this product with phenothiazines can aggravate the photochemical damage to the choroid, retina and lens.
