Desloratadine tablets

Function and Efficacy

This product is a non-sedating, long-acting tricyclic antihistamine and an active metabolite of loratadine. It can relieve symptoms related to allergic rhinitis or chronic idiopathic urticaria by selectively antagonizing peripheral H1 receptors. In addition, in vitro studies have shown that this product can inhibit the release of histamine from human mast cells. Animal studies have shown that this product is not easy to pass through the blood-brain barrier.

Appearance

This product is a film-coated tablet, which appears white or off-white after removing the film coating.

Indication

This product is used to quickly relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny and itchy nose, nasal congestion/stuffy nose; itchy eyes, tearing and congestion; itchy palate and cough. This product is also used to relieve symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria, such as itching, and can reduce the number and size of urticaria.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration: adults and adolescents over 12 years old, 5 mg (one tablet) each time, once a day.

Adverse Reactions

The main adverse reactions of this product are nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, fatigue, occasional drowsiness, forgetfulness and facial and extremity edema in the morning.

Precautions

1. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product or have special physical conditions; 2. Pregnant women should use it with caution.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: The efficacy and safety of desloratadine for children under 12 years old have not been determined. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Use with caution in pregnant women. Precautions for the elderly: Mild to moderate impairment of liver and kidney function has no significant effect on the metabolism and excretion of this drug, so the dosage for elderly patients is the same as that for adults.

Drug Interactions

1. No cardiovascular side effects were observed when desloratadine was used in combination with cytochrome P450 inhibitors ketoconazole and erythromycin. 2. Desloratadine combined with other anti-sympathetic drugs or drugs with central nervous system sedative effects can enhance sleep. 3. Eating and drinking grapefruit juice have no effect on the metabolism of desloratadine. 4. When desloratadine is used simultaneously with alcohol, it does not enhance the impairing effect of alcohol on human behavior.
