Compound Mebendazole Tablets

Function and Efficacy

This compound preparation is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic. The pharmacological effects of its components are as follows: ① Mebendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic that can inhibit the uptake of glucose by intestinal parasites, leading to the depletion of glycogen in the worm body and reducing the formation of adenosine triphosphate in the worm body. However, it does not affect the glucose level in the host's blood. Ultrastructural observation shows that mebendazole causes microtubule degeneration in the cytoplasm of the worm's membrane cells and intestinal cells, resulting in the accumulation of Golgi endocrine granules. Transport blockage, cytoplasmic dissolution, and complete degeneration of absorptive cells lead to the death of the worm body. Mebendazole has the effect of completely killing hookworm eggs and whipworm eggs and partially killing ascaris eggs. In vitro tests have shown that 5 mg/L can inhibit the development of hookworm larvae. ② Levamisole hydrochloride can selectively inhibit succinate dehydrogenase in the worm body muscle, so that fumaric acid cannot be reduced to succinic acid, thereby affecting the anaerobic metabolism of the worm body muscle and reducing energy production. In addition, the drug may have an inhibitory effect on the microtubule structure of the worm body. Levamisole also has immunomodulatory and immune excitation functions.
