Function and Efficacy
Invert sugar injection is an infusion made by mixing equal amounts of glucose and fructose. Its mechanism of action is similar to that of glucose and fructose, and it can produce the same amount of energy as glucose alone. The fructose in it can make glucose be used by the body more quickly.
Ingredients

Appearance
White crystalline powder.
Indication
Suitable for patients who need energy supplementation through non-oral route. Especially in the following situations: - Energy supplementation for diabetic patients. - Energy supplementation for patients with insulin resistance (diabetic state) such as burns, trauma, surgery and infection. - Drug poisoning. - Alcohol poisoning.
Usage and Dosage
For intravenous drip, each vial should be diluted with 250ml of water for injection or 0.9% sodium chloride injection before use. The usual dosage for adults is 250-1000ml each time. The drip rate should be lower than 0.5g/kg/hr (calculated as fructose). The dosage depends on the condition.
Adverse Reactions
It is reported that invert sugar injection may cause allergic reactions such as flushing, rashes, and fever. Large doses and rapid infusion of invert sugar injection may cause lactic acidosis and hyperuricemia. Long-term use alone may cause electrolyte disorders.
Precautions
Patients with hereditary fructose intolerance are prohibited from using this product, and patients with gout and hyperuricemia are prohibited from using this product. Warning: Be aware that excessive or improper use of this product may cause life-threatening lactic acidosis. Patients with undiagnosed hereditary fructose intolerance may be at risk of death when using this product.
Drug Interactions
It should not be used with medicinal products known to be incompatible with fructose and/or glucose.
Storage
Keep in a light-proof and airtight container. The validity period is tentatively 18 months.
