Tazarotene
Function and Efficacy
This product is a prodrug of vitamin A for external use on the skin, which has the functions of regulating epidermal cell differentiation and proliferation. In most biological systems, it is converted into the active form, the homologous carboxylic acid of tazarotene, through rapid deesterification. This active product can relatively selectively bind to the β and γ subtypes of the retinoic acid receptor, but its exact mechanism for treating psoriasis is still unclear.

Indication
Used to treat psoriasis, acne, and for abnormal keratinization diseases, pilosebaceous gland diseases, and precancerous lesions of the skin.
Usage and Dosage
For external use, apply an appropriate amount of this product to the affected area half an hour before going to bed every night. The application area should not exceed 20% of the body surface area. Before using the medicine, clean the affected area first; after the skin is dry, apply the medicine evenly on the skin lesions to form a thin film; after applying the medicine, rub it gently to promote drug absorption; then wash your hands with soap.
Adverse Reactions
After external use of this product, the main adverse reaction is skin reaction, which manifests as itching, burning, stinging, erythema, irritation, skin pain, eczema, desquamation, dermatitis, cracking, edema, discoloration, bleeding and dryness.
Precautions
People who are allergic to this product are prohibited from using it, and those with allergic constitutions should use it with caution.
Drug Interactions
1 Patients should use this product with caution when taking photosensitizing drugs (such as tetracycline, fluoroquinolone, phenothiazines, sulfonamides). 2 Avoid using drugs and cosmetics that can dry out the skin at the same time.
