Function and Efficacy

Ambroxol oral solution is a compound preparation composed of ambroxol hydrochloride and clenbuterol hydrochloride. Ambroxol hydrochloride is a mucolytic agent that can increase the secretion of serous glands in the respiratory mucosa, reduce the secretion of mucous glands, reduce sputum viscosity, promote the secretion of pulmonary surfactant, increase bronchial ciliary movement, and make sputum easier to cough up. Clenbuterol hydrochloride is a selective β-receptor agonist that relaxes bronchial smooth muscles, enhances ciliary movement, dissolves mucus, and promotes sputum discharge.

Appearance

This product is a colorless, clear liquid with an aromatic odor and a sweet taste.

Indication

Used to treat cough, thick sputum, difficulty in expectoration, wheezing, etc. caused by acute and chronic respiratory diseases (such as acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema, etc.).

Usage and Dosage

1. Children (under 12 years old): Oral, 2.5-15 ml each time, twice a day. 2. Children over 12 years old and adults: Oral, 20 ml each time, twice a day; after the symptoms are significantly improved, it can be reduced to 10 ml each time, 2-3 times a day; for patients with severe dyspnea, take 20 ml orally each time, 3 times a day for the first 2-3 days.

Adverse Reactions

1. Psychoneural system: Occasionally headache, hand tremor, drowsiness, restlessness, dizziness, insomnia, excitement, numbness of limbs, etc. 2. Circulatory system: Occasionally palpitations, tachycardia, increased blood pressure, arrhythmia, etc. 3. Allergies: Occasionally allergic rashes, and in some patients with specific constitutions, systemic allergies may occur, manifested as itching, bronchospasm, hypotension, collapse, etc., at which time the drug should be discontinued. 4. Others: Occasionally increased ALT, AST, fatigue, gastrointestinal discomfort, etc.

Precautions

Patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; those who are allergic to this product are contraindicated.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: According to reports, in animal experiments (rats), after using this product in the late pregnancy, the contraction of uterine smooth muscle was inhibited, thus causing delayed delivery. The safety of this product to the fetus is still unclear, so pregnant women, especially those within 3 months of pregnancy, should use it with caution. This product can be excreted through breast milk, so lactating women should use it with caution. Precautions for the elderly: Due to the low physiological function of the elderly, attention should be paid to reducing the dosage.

Drug Interactions

1. When used in combination with catecholamines such as epinephrine and isoproterenol, it may cause arrhythmia, so it should not be used in combination. 2. Patients who are taking MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants should pay special attention to the effect of this product on the vascular system after taking this product. 3. It should not be used in combination with non-selective beta-receptor blockers such as propranolol. 4. Patients who are taking a large amount of other sympathetic stimulants should be careful when taking this product. Long-term overdose may cause arrhythmia or cardioplegia, so special attention should be paid. The symptoms of overdose caused by long-term use generally disappear after stopping the drug. The antidote for overdose is a cardioselective beta-receptor blocker, but patients with a history of bronchospasm should use it with caution.
