Usage and Dosage
Take with water, with or without meals. Do not open the capsules. The recommended dose for adults is 300 mg per day, i.e. 1 150 mg capsule twice a day, for lifelong treatment.
Adverse Reactions
Similar to various other anticoagulants, bleeding is inevitable during the anticoagulant treatment with dabigatran. Especially when used at high doses, the incidence of bleeding is higher. Eriksson et al. first reported a dose-escalation safety study of dabigatran, namely the BISTROI study. In this study, 314 subjects began taking dabigatran orally 4-8 hours after surgery, twice a day, at 12.5, 25, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 300 mg each time, or 150 or 300 mg once a day. The results showed that no major bleeding events were observed in each group, but in the highest dose group (twice a day, 300 mg each time), 2 out of 20 subjects experienced multiple bleeding within the first few days of treatment. The occurrence of minor bleeding events is clearly dose-related. Others
