Lomefloxacin hydrochloride cream

Function and Efficacy

This product is a fluoroquinolone with a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, especially high antibacterial activity against aerobic Gram-negative bacteria. It has good antibacterial activity in vitro against the following bacteria: most bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae family, including Citrobacter, Enterobacter cloacae, Enterobacter aerogenes and other Enterobacteriaceae, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio, Yersinia, etc. Fluoroquinolones often have antibacterial activity against multi-drug resistant bacteria. It has high antibacterial activity against penicillin-resistant gonococci, enzyme-producing influenza bacilli and Moraxella. Fluoroquinolones have poor antibacterial effect against anaerobic bacteria. In recent years, the resistance of bacteria to fluoroquinolones has increased significantly, especially Escherichia coli, with a resistance rate of more than 50%. The resistance of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa has also increased, and different varieties of various fluoroquinolones are cross-resistant. Fluoroquinolones are bactericides. It is generally believed that quinolones act on the A subunit of DNA helicase in bacterial cells, inhibiting DNA synthesis and replication and causing bacterial death. The oral LD50 of lomefloxacin hydrochloride in mice is 1974 mg/kg, and the intravenous LD50 is 282 mg/kg. The oral LD50 of rats is 2100-2350 mg/kg, and the intravenous LD50 is 328-338 mg/kg. The acute toxicity (rat skin) of topical lomefloxacin hydrochloride cream is greater than 1500 mg/kg; it has no irritating effect on normal skin and damaged skin of rabbits; the allergy test on guinea pig skin is negative.
