Compound Amino Acid Injection (20AA)

Function and Efficacy

[Pharmacology and Toxicology] This product is a compound preparation composed of 20 kinds of amino acids, used for amino acid supplementation. [Pharmacokinetics] The amino acid profile composition of this product was determined based on the results of studies on amino acid metabolic dynamics in patients with liver cirrhosis. These patients have typical amino acid imbalances, manifested as low concentrations of branched-chain amino acids, increased concentrations of aromatic amino acids, and increased concentrations of methionine. This imbalance is believed to be one of the reasons for the reduced protein tolerance and development of hepatic coma in patients with liver cirrhosis. The content of branched-chain amino acids in the ingredients of this product is relatively high, which is suitable for the amino acid and protein metabolism mechanism of patients with liver cirrhosis. The use of this product can regulate the amino acid profile composition under pathological conditions.

Ingredients

All the amino acids needed by the human body

Appearance

This product is a colorless or almost colorless clear liquid.

Indication

Used for parenteral nutrition to provide amino acids in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency and those who are about to or have developed hepatic encephalopathy.

Usage and Dosage

Infusion via central vein. Adults: Dosing according to individual needs. Standard dose: 7-10 ml/kg body weight/day, equivalent to 0.7-1.0 g amino acid/kg body weight/day. Maximum dose: 15 ml/kg body weight/day, equivalent to 1.5 g amino acid/kg body weight/day. Drip rate: Hepatic coma For patients with hepatic coma, it is recommended that the drip rate can be increased in the initial stage of treatment until the effect is achieved. For example, a patient weighing 70 kg: 150 ml/hour (2 ml/kg body weight/hour) for the first to second hours; 75 ml/hour (1 ml/kg body weight/hour) for the third to fourth hours; and 45 ml/hour (0.6 ml/kg body weight/hour) from the fifth hour onwards. Maintenance therapy/parenteral nutrition 45-75 ml/hour or 0.6-1.0 ml/kg body weight/hour.

Adverse Reactions

During the infusion period, especially at the beginning of parenteral nutrition therapy, this product may cause adverse reactions generally related to parenteral nutrition therapy, but not specifically related to the product. Uncommon (≥1/1000 to <1/100). Gastrointestinal dysfunction: nausea, vomiting. General abnormalities: headache, chills, fever

Precautions

Hypersensitivity to any active substance or excipient of this product. Non-hepatic amino acid metabolism disorders. Hemodynamic instability (failure and shock state) accompanied by impairment of important functions. Tissue hypoxia. Metabolic acidosis. Severe renal insufficiency that cannot be performed with blood filtration or hemodialysis. Fluid retention. Acute pulmonary edema. Decompensated cardiac insufficiency. For use outside the indications, the ingredients of this product may cause serious metabolic disorders, so the use of this product outside the indications should be strictly avoided.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: There is no data on the use of this product during pregnancy and lactation. Therefore, it can only be used when it is determined to be necessary. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.

Drug Interactions

Mixing amino acid solution with other liquids or drugs will increase the risk of physical and chemical incompatibility and microbial contamination. The mixing process should be carried out under sterile conditions, and the mixtures should be compatible. In order to avoid the risk of microbial contamination and physical and chemical incompatibility, it is not recommended to add any additives to this product. However, it is suitable to add this product to standard carbohydrate or electrolyte solutions.

Storage

Keep sealed.
