Compound Theophylline and Ephedrine Tablets
Function and Efficacy
Antitussive and antiasthmatic drugs. Three purine compounds - theophylline, theobromine and caffeine - relax bronchial smooth muscles by inhibiting phosphodiesterase and increasing intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate levels; ephedrine relaxes bronchial smooth muscles by stimulating β-adrenergic receptors; and belladonna relaxes bronchial smooth muscles by blocking M cholinergic receptors. The five drugs work synergistically by relaxing bronchial smooth muscles together.
Ingredients
This product is a compound preparation, and its main ingredients are 25 mg of theophylline, 15 mg of caffeine, 25 mg of theobromine, 10 mg of ephedrine hydrochloride, and 2 mg of belladonna extract powder per tablet.
