Cetirizine Hydrochloride Tablets

Function and Efficacy

This product is a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist. Animal experiments show that this product has no obvious anticholinergic and anti-5-hydroxytryptamine effects, and is not easy to pass through the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier to act on the central H1 receptor. When used clinically, the central inhibitory effect is relatively mild.

Ingredients

Each tablet of this product contains 10 mg of cetirizine hydrochloride. The excipients are lactose, starch, povidone K90, and magnesium stearate. Chemical name: (plusmn;)-2-[2-[4-[(4-chlorophenyl)benzyl]-1-piperazinyl]ethoxy]acetic acid dihydrochloride.

Appearance

This product is white or off-white tablets.

Indication

Used for seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis, urticaria and skin itching caused by allergens.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration. Recommended for adults and children over 2 years old. Adults: 1 tablet at a time, can be taken with a small amount of liquid at dinner. If sensitive to adverse reactions, can be taken once a day in the morning and evening, half a tablet each time. Children 6-12 years old: 1 tablet at a time, once a day; or half a tablet at a time, twice a day. Children 2-6 years old: half a tablet at a time, once a day; or 1/4 tablet at a time, twice a day.

Adverse Reactions

Adverse reactions are mild and transient, including drowsiness, sleepiness, headache, dizziness, agitation, dry mouth, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Occasionally, aspartate aminotransferase is slightly elevated.

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.

Drug Interactions
