Appearance

This product is white tablets.

Indication

1. Prevent and treat peripheral neuritis, insomnia, and restlessness caused by large or long-term use of isoniazid, hydralazine, etc.; relieve nausea, vomiting, or vomiting during pregnancy caused by anticancer drugs and radiotherapy. 2. Treat infantile convulsions or give it to pregnant women to prevent infantile convulsions. 3. Leukopenia. 4. Topical application to treat acne, rosacea, seborrheic eczema, etc.

Usage and Dosage

Oral: 1 Adults: (1) Vitamin B6 dependence syndrome: 30-600 mg per day at the beginning, 50 mg per day for maintenance, lifelong use. (2) Vitamin B6 deficiency: 10-20 mg per day for 3 weeks, then 2-3 mg per day for several weeks. (3) Inborn errors of metabolism (cystathionineuria, hyperoxaluria, homocystinuria, xanthine aciduria): 100-500 mg per day. (4) Drug-induced vitamin B6 deficiency: ① Prevention: 10-50 mg per day (when using penicillamine), or 100-300 mg per day (when using cycloserine, ethionamide or isoniazid). ② Treatment: 50-200 mg per day for 3 weeks, then 25-100 mg per day. (5) Hereditary sideroblastic anemia: 200-600 mg per day for 1-2 months, then 30-50 mg per day, lifelong use. (6) Alcoholism: 50 mg per day. 2 Children: (1) Vitamin B6 dependence syndrome: Infant maintenance dose, 2-10 mg per day, lifelong application, children over 1 year old use the same dosage as adults. (2) Vitamin B6 deficiency: 2.5-10 mg per day for 3 weeks, then 2-5 mg per day for several weeks.

Adverse Reactions

Vitamin B6 is almost non-toxic when renal function is normal. If 200 mg is taken daily for more than 30 days, vitamin B6 dependence syndrome has been reported. 2 to 6 g of vitamin B6 taken daily for several months can cause severe neurosensory abnormalities, progressive gait instability, numbness of the feet, and inflexibility of the hands, which can be relieved after stopping the drug, but still weak.

Precautions

Long-term and excessive use of vitamin B6 in pregnant women may cause vitamin B6 dependence syndrome in newborns, which manifests as irritability and epileptic convulsions.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women who take large amounts of vitamin B6 may cause vitamin B6 dependence syndrome in newborns. Normal intake of vitamin B6 by nursing mothers has no adverse effects on infants. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.

Drug Interactions

1. Chloramphenicol, cycloserine, ethionamide, nicotinic acid hydralazine, immunosuppressants including adrenocortical hormones, cyclophosphamide, cyclosporine, isoniazid, penicillamine and other drugs can antagonize vitamin B6 or increase the renal excretion of vitamin B6, which can cause anemia or peripheral neuritis. 2. The dosage of vitamin B6 should be increased when taking estrogen. 3. The combination of levodopa and a small dose of vitamin B6 (5 mg per day) can antagonize the anti-tremor effect of levodopa.
