    Properties: blue powder (may be partial deep blue), odourless.

     

    Solubility: slightly soluble in water, ethanol, glycerin and propylene glycol, does not dissolve in oils and fats. 0.05% of the aqueous solution is dark blue. 1 g soluble in about 100 ml, 25 ℃ water, for water solubility was lower than those of other edible synthetic pigment, 0.05% aqueous solution is blue. Soluble in glycerol, propylene glycol, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in fats. In dark blue of sulfuric acid, diluted is blue, its aqueous solution with sodium hydroxide is green to yellowish green. The indigo color, has a unique tonal, is widely used. Heat resistance, light resistance, alkali resistance, oxidation resistance, salt resistance and bacterial resistance are poor. Fade when reduction, reduction, such as using sodium sulfate or glucose as indigo was white. Maximum absorption wavelength of 610 nm + 2 nm [3].
