Description

Properties: white or light yellow crystalline powder; with a slight characteristic odor. Soluble in water (6%), dry product is stable and can be stored for 5 years under seal.

Tiamulin hydrogen fumarate is used for chronic respiratory disease in chickens, Mycoplasma pneumonia and Haemophilus pleuropneumonia in pigs, and also for dysentery caused by Leptospira densa in pigs.

Tiamulin fumarate has good antibacterial activity against a variety of gram-positive cocci including most staphylococci and streptococci (except group D streptococci) and a variety of mycoplasma and some spirochetes. However, it has weak antibacterial activity against certain negative bacteria, with the exception of Haemophilus spp. and certain strains of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella.
