Character: Sodium Erythorbate is white or off- white crystal granule or powder, odorless, tastes little salt, the melting point is over 200℃, The dry sodium erythorbate is rather stable when expose to the air. freely soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol. , it’s easily oxidized by air in the water; trace metal ions, heat and light can accelerate oxidation. the PH value of 2% water solution is 6.5-8.0.

Antioxidation: : the antioxidation property of the Sodium Erythorbate is far more than that of sodium ascorbate. It doesn’t improve the function of the Vitamin C, or affect the absorption and use of vitamin C. Sodium erythorbate can be converted into vitamin C in the body.

Safety: The USA FDA (1980) has listed the Sodium Erythorbate as the general public safety substance.

Benefits: compared with vitamin C, Sodium erythorbate has only about 5% of the effect of ascorbic acid in anti scurvy, and the same effect can be achieved in terms of lowering blood pressure, diuresis, liver glycogen production, pigment excretion, detoxification, etc.

Applications: The Sodium Erythorbate is mainly used as the antioxidant in foods, to keep the color and flavor unchanged and extend the validity period , for instance meat, fish, beer, fruit juice, canned fruit and vegetable, dairy produce, grape wine, soft drink, fruit tea and fruit juice etc.
