    Biodegradable Plastics Series- PBSA

    PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

    PBSA (polysuccinic acid - butyl adipate) is a degradable plastic, generally made of fossil resources as raw materials, can be degraded by microorganisms in the natural environment, and the decomposition rate is higher than 90% in 180 days under compost conditions. PBSA is one of the categories with high research and application enthusiasm in biodegradable plastics.

    PBSA is copolymerized from succinic acid, 1, 4-butanediol (BDO) and adipic acid (AA), which has better toughness and faster degradation rate than PBS. Costs can be reduced by adding calcium carbonate and starch. Its main use is also basically the same as PBS. Although PBS and PBSA were developed earlier, limited by their own properties and insufficient raw material succinic acid resources, the market consumption is far less than PBAT.

    Storage

    Temperatures during transportation and storage should not exceed 40 ºC.

    Keep resin in dry and ventilated warehouse to prevent moisture. Avoid contacting with soil, water and sludge, and no exposure to direct sunlight and extreme temperature.

    The maximum shelf life is 1 years in ambient temperature of 23ºC if the package has been tightly sealed.



    Drying

    It  is  recommended  to  pre-dry  the  material  prior  to  getting  the  best processing performance. If the moisture of the resin is less than 0.1% pre-drying  may  not  be  needed.

    Typical drying conditions :   2  hours at 60ºC (140º F).

    Processing Guide

    ASECNET PBSA can be independently used in the ordinary injection molding
    machine for processing, it can also be blended with PLA.
