What is Sodium tetraborate decahydrate ?

Translucent colorless crystal or crystalline white powder; No smell, salty taste; Heated to 350-400 ºC lost all crystallization water is anhydrous borax. (Na2B4O7), density 1.72g/cm3; Soluble in water, glycerin, but insoluble in alcohol. The aqueous solution is slightly alkaline and colorless glassy when melted. Borax is a soft and light colorless translucent crystal or white crystalline powder. Chemically, it is sodium tetraborate with 10 water molecules. Borax is odorless and salty. Soluble in water, glycerin, slightly soluble in alcohol, the aqueous solution is slightly alkaline. Borax weathering slowly in the air, melting into a colorless glassy material.
