2)1. 1 Apigenin and viruses Apigenin and human herpesvirus Human herpesvirus type 4, also known as Epstein-Barr (EB) virus. Apigenin has been shown to inhibit EB virus, and since lytic activation of EB virus is closely associated with the development of diseases such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma, inhibition of EB virus reactivation is beneficial in the treatment of virus-related diseases.
